Add a spooky touch to your outdoor Halloween decorations with this fun DIY Halloween pole! Whether you’re welcoming trick-or-treaters, decorating your front walkway, or creating a playful Halloween display, this easy-to-customize project is a great way to get creative and make your home feel extra festive for spooky season!
The beauty of this project is that is it completely customizable! You can choose what ever spooky color scheme you’d like to fit your theme and add accessories to help enhance your design. All you need is 4 basic items to build your decorative Halloween pole; one of them being a pool noodle! If you’ve seen our Summer Pool Noodle Projects post, you’ll know that pool noodles are a great material for crafting.
What You’ll Need:
A Broomstick
A Pool Noodle
Duct Tape
Hot Glue/Super Glue
Jack-o-Lantern Trick-or-Treat Bucket
Optional: Lights, Florals, Flag, Sign, Hat, etc.
Step 1
First, take your broomstick and pound it into the ground with a hammer or mallet.
Step 2
Take your pool noodle and begin wrapping duct tape around it, creating a spiral affect.
Step 3
Next, feed the broomstick through the hole of the pool noodle. The broomstick will hold the pool noodle upright. Then, you can glue the Jack-o-lantern bucket to the top of the pool noodle.
Optional: If you’d like to add a flag or sign to your pole like I did, simply glue the string onto the top of the pool noodle BEFORE gluing the Jack-o-lantern.
Step 4
Add your topping. Get creative and add whatever you’d like to top off your pole decoration. Here, I added spooky Halloween florals, but you could also add a witch or scarecrow hat to the Jack-o-lantern. Or, top it off with a solar light to make the Jack-o-lantern glow at night! Depending on how tall you make your pole, you could even leave the bucket open and fill it with candy for trick-or-treaters!
I even added some purple lights to my pole so that it can be seen at night!
