Notes
Totally Tasty Ingredients

Butter, sugar, flour, eggs, vanilla, chocolate chips … Naturally these are the ingredients for any standard chocolate chip recipe. But these cookies are anything but standard! So lets talk about the stuff that makes these chocolate chip cookies totally tasty –
Oats
Rolled oats add a delightfully chewy texture to this Bronner’s Flavorful Favorite recipe. Not to mention its a sneaky way to get a little extra goodness in! Oats are a nutrient dense food loaded with health benefits.
Cinnamon
In addition, cinnamon adds an unexpected complexity of flavor and warmth! Known as a warming spice that also carries incredible benefits -think antioxidants, anti-inflammatory, lowering blood sugar – you’re sure to love the subtle undertones of cinnamon in this chocolate chip cookie recipe.
Lemon Juice
Understandably, it may seem counter-intuitive to add lemon juice to a cookie batter if you’ve never done it before. But don’t skip this ingredient! Lemon juice works to super-activate the baking soda, creating both a lofty and soft-and-chewy cookie that you’ll love sinking your teeth in to.
Optional Add-Ins
Admittedly, these chocolate chip cookies stand on their own, but if you like a cookie loaded with yummy extras, than you won’t want to skip the optional add-ins from this recipe! Any 1½ cup-combination of walnuts, dried cranberries, and raisins pile on even more layers of crunchy or chewy texture, not to mention all the flavor.
Big Scoops!
The secret to getting perfect cookies?! It’s all about the scoop. A ¼ cup portion of dough yields beautifully, oversized cookies – the kind dreams are made of!

TIP: Don’t press the dough too flat, so that you get cookies with golden-crisp edges and a soft and fluffy center!
