Since I’ve wanted to paint my front door red for the past 5 years, last autumn I finally made it happen. To be sure, our 2019 hunter green metal roof and 2020 plantation teak vinyl siding were calling out for a barn-red door. So that’s what it got. And I love it!
Then Michelle, one of our buyers here at Bronner’s, brought in all these great, new, patriotic porch decor pieces. Since I wanted so much to share them with you, I took them home for a test run. No doubt it was time to try them out on my porch around that red front door.

Setting the Stage
Then the real fun began! After I’d made a trip to the garden center for flowers to fill my porch pots, it was time to get to work. As can be seen, you can combine these pieces any number of ways – whatever works best for your porch and entry.
Another thing I really like is how you can put the flower stakes to work in different ways. In any case, they made a statement in a pot, in the ground or in a plant stand!
In this case, I found a grapevine wreath the perfect partner for the hanging metal Americana farm-style windmill cap/head. As a matter of fact, I loved the rustic feel this piece brings to the porch. I can almost hear the creaking of the windmill turning in the breeze.
