Merry CHRISTmas from Bronner’s Blog Team

The most wonderful time of the year is here, Rejoice! Rejoice!

This CHRISTmas we also celebrate the 200th anniversary of “Silent Night,”  the most beloved and widely-known Christmas hymn in the world.  Pastor Joseph Mohr wrote the words, and Franz Gruber composed the music for the inspiring carol that was first sung in 1818 on Christmas Eve in St. Nicholas Church in Oberndorf, Austria, near Salzburg.

Silent Night Memorial Chapel

Bronner’s Silent Night Memorial Chapel was built in 1992 in thankfulness to God by Wally and Irene Bronner and family as a tribute to the world’s favorite Christmas hymn “Silent Night” (Stille Nacht! Heilige Nacht!). The beautiful chapel is a replica of the original Silent Night Chapel in Oberndorf, Austria, near Salzburg. The Chapel is open daily to visitors and “Silent Night” is displayed in over 300 languages along the lamppost lined walkway.

Celebrate this CHRISTmas season by singing “Silent Night” at the Silent Night Memorial Chapel on Christmas Eve, from 3 pm – 3:15 pm. This beloved tradition was started by store originator Wally Bronner and still continues on today.
