WHO can honestly say the 1957, Dr. Seuss classic, “How The Grinch Stole Christmas” hasn’t stolen their heart?! If your hand is raised too, then this post of ideas is for you … including “every Who down in Who-ville who likes Christmas a lot!” Have yourself a ‘Merry Little Grinchmas’ while making memories that will last a lifetime! (Warning, your heart may have to ‘grow 3-sizes‘ just to contain it all!)

Like bingle balls and whofoo fluff!”1
Grinch In A Cinch
To begin, let’s flip the script! The Grinch may have “stuffed” the tree up the chimney in the Dr. Seuss classic, but now you can “stuff” your tree with this “Grinch In A Cinch” pick set by Department 56. And easily!

The 5 piece set features the Grinch in his faux Santa suit, crafted of D56′ signature Clothtique™ stiffened fabric. The head, arms, and legs can be woven into your tree’s branches from the heavy-duty-wired pick base which is covered in artificial greens. Designed by Ann Dezendorf exclusively for Department 56, this “Grinch in a Cinch” decoration is hand-painted and assembled with intricate detail and artistic experience to bring the fabled Grinch to life!

What’s more, the Grinch’s left hand includes a hook from which to hang an ornament. Talk about being caught red green-handed!
Alternatively, you could display his hand holding the end of a light cord … Less is more, right?! Minimalists are sure to appreciate how little it takes to decorate their tree in an iconic way that is sure to “steal the show” with little more than the Grinch pick set and a strand of lights!
Without a doubt, this pick set has to be one of our top “picks” of the season!

The “Star” Of The Show
Alternatively, this Grinch Tree Topper is sure to be the star! Designed as though it came to life from right out of the pages of the Dr. Seuss™ Christmas classic, this sturdy tree topper doesn’t just have to go on the tree – consider placing it on a mantle or shelf or anywhere you want a grinchy touch to give you all the Whofoo festive fuzzies!
A Tale As Old As Time …
Well, not really. Perhaps just since 1957!
Regardless, this timeless tale which has sold more than ten million copies and been translated into twenty-seven languages, has taken on a life of its own through a variety of adaptions. These include radio, television and even Broadway.2 Who can forget Jim Carrey’s masterful portrayal in Ron Howard’s 2000 film adaption?! (Perhaps not for Whoville, but those lederhosen are perfect for a Christmas in Frankenmuth, don’t you agree?!)

Inspired by “How The Grinch Stole Christmas,” new authors are building on the green, grinchy character with even more, new tales to tell.
For example, “How The GRINCH LOST CHRISTMAS!,” published sixty-six years after the original, is a sequel with illustrations akin to those of Theodor “Dr. Seuss” Geisel. And it’s available at Bronner’s, sku #1255754!
In contrast, “The Grinch Takes a Vacation” by Kaeti Vandorn is a modernized, Dr. Seuss graphic novel in the style of a comic book. Also available at Bronner’s, sku #1257909.
But, if you’re vintage at heart with a mix of modern, like me, and want something closer in style to the first edition of “How The GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS!,” than Bronner’s lenticular cover edition is for you! Bronner’s sku #1201484.

A Grinchy Christmas Idea That’s Picture Perfect …
This idea first came to us on Instagram from Laura Sword of Sword & Co, who has given us permission to share.
Certainly she had the right “frame of mind” with the grinchy idea of framing book pages, don’t you think?!

Whether you choose a classic version or a newer one, framing your favorite illustrations is a great way to enjoy them even further. We recommend a photocopy so you won’t have to destroy your publication.
What’s more, you can always swap out your art with the seasons or holidays. Or, move them to a study or library if you have one.
