I Thessalonians 5:7 says, “Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.” Let’s encourage Dad this Father’s Day!

And in I Corinthians 16:13, Paul wrote to believers to “Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.”

In the Bible we read of angels, supernatural beings created by God, who worship and serve Him. Indeed, the word angel means messenger. Although Biblical references to the archangel Michael are limited, we see him doing battle on behalf of God and His people. (Daniel 10:13 & 21, Daniel 12:1, Jude 1:9, and Revelation 12:7)

The Archangel Michael Figurine

Bronner’s figurine of the archangel Michael depicts him standing on a rock and holding a sword, ready for battle. Furthermore, the sword bears a cross, lion, and lamb, reminding us of the love, power, and protection of Jesus Christ. The piece is a wonderful gift for Dad, reminding him that he is not alone in the battles of life.

The Armor of God to Encourage Dad This Father’s Day

To that end, encourage Dad with a call to put on the whole armor of God as found in Ephesians 6:10-18:

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.

“Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints.”
