As a consequence of dried flowers becoming brittle, it’s important to note that you will want to first work from fresh roses in creating this Beauty and the Beast™-influenced home accent.
The beauty-ful thing about this DIY? It will look just as enchanting over time as it does the day you make it!
How-To Make An Enchanting Rose Cloche Display

Disney®-Inspired, Enchanting Rose Cloche DIY Home Accent
Equipment
- wire cutters
- Pruning Shears
- Hot Glue Gun & Glue Sticks
Materials
- 2 Fresh Roses Red
- Floral Wire
- 1 Finishing Nail
- 1 Small Cloche
Instructions
- To begin, trim rose stems to desired length.
- Then, insert the tip of floral wire into the rose's calyx and wrap tightly around the stem, as demonstrated by floral expert Tracie Kuck in the video tutorial below.
- Next, insert a small finishing nail into the center of the wired rose stem.
- Place a dab of hot glue on the center of your cloche base. Then, once slightly cooled, but still tacky, carefully insert and hold the wired rose in place. Add more hot glue at the bottom to secure its upright position, making sure it is firmly in place before letting go.
- Lastly, lay your additional rose and a few pulled flower petals to mask the glue.

As can be seen below, fresh florals have a tendency to shrink as they loose moisture. For this reason, you want to be sure your floral wire is firmly inserted into the calyx and that the stem is wrapped as tightly as possible.
A finishing nail inserted into the center of the stem will provide additional support as the rose dries over time. Additionally, it helps to create some contour for the hot glue to meld around, creating a stronger bond.
Not only will laying a few loose petals at the bottom help to conceal the adhesion point, but they will also add the most magical appeal in realistically portraying the wilting, Enchanted Rose™ featured in Disney’s® Beauty And the Beast™ fairytale.
Lastly, replace cloche cover. One of my favorite things about this stunning showpiece is that because the flower is encased in glass, you don’t have to worry about how to keep the delicate rose free from dust!
