Our 4 fab decorating tips for Halloween will help you make fun the focus. In brief, use lights and color, keep it crafty, make it sweet and, last but not least, start a village!
Use Lights & Color!
Lights aren’t just for Christmas decorating! By comparison, they’re important for setting the scene for Halloween, too. In addition to clear lights, broaden your color palette to include purple, orange and green.
Another decorating tip for Halloween: don’t limit yourself to the traditional string lights only. For example, our spheres with white and green phasing effects bring a sense of movement to the scene.

In addition, line your steps, staircases and walkways with colorful, lighted pumpkins and corn stalks.

Unquestionably, follow the manufacturer’s recommendations for the maximum number of light strings to connect for optimum safety.

All things considered, lighting homegrown pumpkins is one of our brightest decorating tips for Halloween. Secure light strands with T-pins as needed.

Decorating Tip for Halloween: Keep It Crafty!

Our simple, sweet Spider Sucker craft ties into our spider theme. To begin with, gather your
Supplies
- two 12-inch black pipe cleaners (chenille stems)
- a pair of google eyes
- sucker
- wire snips or scissors
- glue gun
Now it’s time to
Assemble
- First, cut the pipe cleaners in half.
- Second, lay the four pieces out together horizontally.
- Third, lay the sucker on top of the pipe cleaners just to the left of the halfway mark.

- Fourth, wrap the pipe cleaners on the right side up and around the stem as pictured.

- Next, spread the pipe cleaners out and bend the tips under to shape the spider’s legs.
- Last, glue the google eyes onto the center of the spider.

Without a doubt, these creepy crawlies will disappear one by one from your display into the hands of little (and big) trick or treaters!
Make It Sweet
Sooner or later, decorators get hungry. (Halloween partygoers do, too!) So another decorating tip for Halloween (sort of!) is to feed the hungry and make it sweet! Start out with a warm and wonderful staple like our Baked Macaroni and Cheese.

After that, end the meal with a sweet note, our Caramel Layer Choco-Squares. There’s nothing like the combination of caramel, chocolate and nuts!

Decorating Tip for Halloween: Start a Village!
Finally, be sure to start a Department Halloween Village at your house. Start small by incorporating one piece at a time into your current Halloween displays. In time, you’ll find you have a Halloween Village that can stand on its own.
