We’re sharing Christmas decorating ideas that are sure to have you singing ♪ It’s the most WONDERFUL time of the year!♬
The Countdown is ON!
Christmas … it has the ability to make people nervous: “I have how many days left to finish everything up?!” Or JOYous: “Bring on the Christmas carols and Yuletide cheer … November 1st is here!”
For Wally Bronner, one would guess even November 1st was not soon enough! On any given day he was always able to tell you just how many days were left until Christmas! Wally wanted people to “decorate their hearts with peace and love” every day of the year, and it was from that passion that Bronner’s CHRISTmas Wonderland was able to grow into the World’s Largest Christmas store, open 361 days a year.
A bit similarly, my husband’s favorite question to start asking me (in October) is “Can we please put the Christmas tree up early this year?” I’m sure you can guess what category he falls into! I prefer to wait until after Thanksgiving … but then it’s GAME ON!
Let the Christmas Decorating Begin!
We love Christmastime because our families get together, and the day is full of good food, good fellowship and fun. Another reason I (not-so-secretly) love Christmas is because it’s the one time of year I get to be the hostess. I LOVE decorating our home and creating a peaceful and welcoming atmosphere for our family to create memories in! I don’t decorate for any other time of year, but when Christmas comes, our home is transformed with a few simple decorations.
Bronner’s has given me so many wonderful ideas and inspiration for Christmas decorating this year! Like our giant tinsel letters …
Decorating with Tinsel
Our Christmas decorating tinsel hack?! Giant tinsel letters – these are seriously simple to make, can be thrown together in a pinch and make a HUGE focal point! Recycle old or browse our new tinsel garlands to suit your style!
Because they are crafted from foam core and tinsel, these letters are lightweight and easy to display, whether you hang them on your railing, from a wall or the ceiling, or simply prop them up from the floor. Another BONUS to decorating with tinsel? Did you know that it makes a fun photobooth backdrop if your family is into that sort of thing?!
Staircase Garland
Looking to transform your staircase with a minimal amount of Christmas decorations for maximum appeal? We draped the railing with a basic garland and dressed it up with some natural picks and a strand of lights! Isn’t it stunning? The benefit of working your decorations in layers like this means you can change it up year to year, bringing new life to decorations you already have that may look a little tired or dated without having to replace everything.
Stockings Hung With Care
Christmas stockings are a great addition to your Christmas décor! Traditionally hung from the mantle, stockings have also been seen hanging from railings. But what if you don’t have a mantle or railing? Fret not! They also look beautiful hung with ribbon from the back of dining room chairs. Here’s an idea: use personalized stockings as place settings and keepsakes for your dinner guests!
The CHRISTmas Story
But the real JOY of CHRISTmas is celebrating God’s love for us; that His Holy Son left His heavenly throne to be the incarnate, humbly born in a dirty manger to become the reconciliation of mankind to the Father. There is truly no greater love! Displaying the nativity scene is a beautiful way to keep CHRIST central in your celebrations.
THESE ARE A FEW OF OUR FAVORITE THINGS!
We asked some of our team to tell us what their favorite thing about the Christmas season is in one sentence. Here’s what they had to say:
“My favorite thing about the Christmas season is that I get to spend time with my family and that feeling you get from the Christmas spirit!” -Wendy Taylor
“Watching the joy on my kids’ faces while they are giving someone a gift they picked out or made themselves.” -Crissy Dutcher
“One favorite of many are the wonderful Christmas songs and moving hymns that can get me tapping my feet or bring a tear to the eye.” -Sue Kern
“A feeling of peace and joy.” -Maria Sutorik
“If every day were like Christmas … what a wonderful world it would be.” -Connie Rochow
“Spending time with family and remembering loved ones spending Christmas in Heaven.” – Carol Schnell
“Getting together with my HUGE family and taking all of the kids outside to sled, build snowmen and play in the snow while we wait for Christmas dinner. Even the teenagers act like kids again!” – Stacy Tuck
“I like sitting in church Christmas Eve candlelight service singing “Silent Night.” – Jan Kribs
“Being able to freely and openly celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus!” – Sarah Schlegel
“My favorite thing about Christmas is memories of days gone by, love and joy that has been shared with ones you love.” – Debby Getty

Yes, the store grew from one building to three downtown (kitty-corner from each other) before moving out to the large property at 25 Christmas Lane in 1977.
You have been our family tradition since I was a child. Each year we’d travel to Bronners from St Clair Shores, have a great dinner–thank God for all great and little things then stroll Frankenmuth…..this goes back to the 50’s!!!!!
You have a great store, with a global reputation….you bring back heart-warming memories….thank you so much!
Wow David! Thank you so much to you and your family for making Bronner’s a part of your family’s tradition through all these years, we feel so blessed! (Do you remember the three locations on the North end of town from your earlier visits?)
